On the Island

Well it was one of the last warm days of the year, this time for sure.  I was spending a good part of the afternoon on Jamestown and decided to make a quick trip to Beavertail to watch the sun go down.  Given the cloud cover, I was hoping for another stellar sunset like the ones that have been happening so frequently the past few weeks, but no such luck.  Don't get me wrong, it was still an incredible sunset!  Just not one of those violently pink and purple ones that make the sky light up neon  like some tribute to the 80s.  It was a nice and peaceful sundown with some deep shades of blue.  The sea was calm but the breeze was brisk, reminding us that winter is truly on its way.
